Laverne M. Carlson

Laverne M. Carlson, 86, Jamestown, ND died June 9, 2016 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown. Laverne was born on November 25, 1929 in Jud, North Dakota, the daughter of Charles and Nellie (Roehr) Carlson. She received her education in Jud rural schools. She attended Ellendale Normal College and Valley City State Teacher's College.
Laverne taught in many communites thoughout North Dakota, including Kulm and Fredonia. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Jud and was active in church activites. She enjoyed painting and embroidery, and was a volunteer for the Salvation Army.
Laverne is suvived by four brothers, Leslie (Christine); James (Murhel); Keith (Jan); Calvin (Lockie); one sister, Sue (Ruben) Romero; two sister in laws, Carol Burnside; Beatrice Carlson; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, (Arvid, Harlan, Clifford, Merritt), one sister, (Marie).
Memorial Service; 10:00 am, Monday, June 13, 2016 at Good Shepherd Chapel, Ave Maria Village with Deacon Tom Geffre.
