LaVerne Fredenburg, 99, of Edgeley, ND, passed away on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Ave Maria, Jamestown surrounded by her family.
LaVerne was born November 28, 1921 in Swede Township, 10 mile north of Kulm, ND, the daughter of Hugo and Katherine (Davidson) Ogren. She attended country school in the area and Edgeley High School. LaVerne married Floyd Fredenburg on February 3, 1945 in Midland, TX. They lived in LaMoure, ND, and then moved to the Fredenburg family farm near Edgeley where LaVerne helped as a farmwife and raised three children. She was an active member of Progressive Homemakers, V.F.W. Auxiliary for over 60 years, and Wesley United Methodist Church – WCTU. She and Floyd moved into Edgeley in 1970 where she enjoyed raising flowers, plants, and cooking for her family. Floyd died on October 15, 2008.
LaVerne is survived by sons: Bruce (JoAnn) Fredenburg, Edgeley, ND; Reed (Cheryl) Fredenburg, Edgeley, ND; Miles (Jean) Fredenburg, Shoreview, MN; 4 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marcella Ogren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Orville and Merrit; sisters, Doris and Bernice; a daughter-in-law, Holly and a grandson, Cole.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND with Pastor Travis Voeltz officiating.
Visitation: One hour before the service at the church.
Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley.
Memorials: Wesley United Methodist Church and Manor St. Joseph both of Edgeley.
