Laverne R. Oliver

LaVerne Oliver, 93, of Carrington, North Dakota died Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington.

LaVerne Rose Ehlers was born May 29, 1910 northwest of Spencer, South Dakota the daughter of Henry and Viola (Thomas) Ehlers. LaVerne was 4 years old when she moved with her parents and older brother, Ralph to a farm northeast of Edmunds, ND. They moved to several different farms until settling and buying the present farm, north of Edmunds. She helped on the farm until her marriage to Frank Oliver on October 14, 1932. Frank and LaVerne had three children, Mary Rose Oliver, Clifford Ralph Oliver and Richard Eugene Oliver who also helped on the farm. Frank passed away March 3, 1993. In later years LaVerne's health failed and she stayed for a few years at Holy Family Villa in Carrington and was later moved to Golden Acres Manor where she resided until her death.

LaVerne is survived by one son, Richard Oliver of rural Edmunds, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two children, Mary Rose and Clifford Oliver.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, November 25, 2003 and one hour before the service at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Edmunds Cemetery, Edmunds, North Dakota.
