Laverne Paul Wolff

LaVerne Paul Wolff, 71, Chaseley, ND, passed away December 8, 2011 at his home with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

LaVerne was born May 17, 1940 at Woodworth, ND, the son of Gottleib and Pauline (Guthmiller) Wolff. He grew up and attended school north of Pettibone and later moved to Jamestown with his family. LaVerne married Elsie Remmick on April 13, 1961 in Steele, ND. Laverne worked at various jobs before he and Elsie purchased their farm north of Robinson in 1970.

LaVerne was a member of the Robinson School Board, Kidder County Weed Board, and Merkel Township Board.

Laverne enjoyed all aspects of farm life, especially working in his shop, working cattle, and doing fieldwork with his Steiger tractor.

Laverne always enjoyed visiting with his family and friends. He especially looked forward to attending pick-up pulls with his family. LaVerne was very proud of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by those who survive him including his wife, Elsie, Chasely, ND; one daughter, Sheila (Mike) Rohrich, Steele, ND; three sons, Leon Wolff, Dawson, ND, Lonnie (Amy) Wolff, Steele, ND, and Travis (Nicole) Wolff, Chasely, ND; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy, Bo, Megen, Morgan, Johnathan, Bradey, Tracy, Jesse, Kash, Krista, and Keaton; eight great-grandchildren, Trayton, Bentley, Brandon, Ethan, Aiden, Tristan, Taylee, and Bella. He also has three step-grandchildren, Rick, Jamie, and Julie; seven step great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene (Shirley) Wolff, Jamestown, ND and Delmar Wolff, Jamestown; four sisters, Louella Huisenga, Jamestown, Ramona (Noel) Schave, Frazee, MN, Charlette Horstad, Jamestown, and Virginia (Bob) Haugen, Jamestown; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Nadine Remmick, Robinson, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerome, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rudolph and Alma Remmick; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Mary Ann Dehne; and brother-in-law, Rod Huisenga.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Robinson, ND, with Rev. Valarie Kinlan officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown and one hour before the service at the church.

Interment: Country Side Cemetery, Frettim Township, rural Robinson, ND.
