LaVon A. Humes, 82, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, February 5, 2010 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center in Jamestown.
LaVon Heiden was born August 21, 1927 in Jamestown, the daughter of Max and Lydia (Hauser) Heiden. She graduated from Jamestown High School. On January 18, 1947 LaVon married Clayton E. Humes in Jamestown. She worked as a bookkeeper for Everetts & Assoc. in Jamestown for over 40 years. Clayton died on July 11, 2007. LaVon lived in Jamestown all her life. She became a resident of Hi-Acres Manor in December 2009.
LaVon was a member of First United Methodist Church and the church circle. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, and visiting with family and friends.
LaVon is survived by grandson, Todd Humes, and granddaughter, Corrine Humes, both of Jamestown; and four great-grandchildren, Courtney, Madeline, Alex and Aspen.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Clayton, and two brothers, Walter and Duane.
