Lawrence H Spitzer

Lawrence H. "Bud" Spitzer, 90, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Kensal, ND, died early Friday morning, August 8, 2014 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Lawrence H. Spitzer was born on November 15, 1923, in rural Kensal, the son of Adolph and Evelyn (Bower) Spitzer. He graduated high school in Kensal and attended the State School of Science in Wahpeton. Lawrence and Shirley Johnson were married on November 30, 1944 and raised six children. He was a 4-H leader, member of the school board and rural fire department. He farmed all of his life, even after he retired. Bud was active in the community and a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kensal. He was an excellent carpenter and "fix it" man.
Bud is survived by his children, Leon (Donnalene) Spitzer, Fargo, Jill (Dennis) Bredahl, Spiritwood Lake, ND, Bruce Spitzer, Kensal, Dana Spitzer, Kensal, Sue (Dean Miller) Audubon, MN; daughter-in-law, Renee Spitzer, Jamestown; eight grandchildren, Nicole (Jay) Haut, Beau (Jenna), Mark (Karla), Wade (Amber), Tracy, Angela (Steve) McQueen, Andrew, and Jordan; twelve great-grandchildren, Zach, Dakota, Ty, Mason, Dillon, Harley, Ethan, Gavin, Jacob, Celia, S.J., and Levi; sister, Shirley (Ken) Ceregino, Portland, OR; and brother, Clarence Spitzer, Carrington, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; son, Jeffrey; brother, Duane; sister, Lorraine Florhaug; and sister-in-law, Delores Spitzer.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kensal, with Rev. Robert Hill officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 at Williams Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 11, 2014 at Good Shepherd Chapel, Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Burial: Kensal Cemetery, Kensal, ND.
