Lawrence ""Larry"" H. Struble, 74, Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.
Lawrence was born November 21, 1933 at Marion, ND, the son of Charles J. and Pearl (Dahl) Struble. He graduated from Marion High School in 1951 and attended Valley City State University following high school. He served in the U.S. Army and attended North Dakota State University following his discharge, graduating in 1958. He and Luella J. Gall were married in Jamestown on September 3, 1956. He taught and served as principal at Litchville Public Schools, and taught at Jamestown Junior High School for over twenty years. Lawrence was a Crop Hail Adjuster for Farmers Union Insurance, eventually becoming field manager for the North Dakota territory. In May of 1981 he moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he served as Assistant Manager for the National Farmers Union Crop Hail Insurance division until December 1981. Due to Lawrence's illness, the family returned to Jamestown in May 1983.
He had served as president of the Jamestown Education Association, had served as SE Regional director for the North Daktoa Education Association, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Lawrence is survived by three daughters: Judy (Wendell) Perleberg, Buchanan, ND; Janine Struble, Jamestown; and Jill (Mark) Edinger, Carrington, ND; and five grandchildren, Alison Perleberg, Joe Perleberg, Kylie Perleberg, Marley Edinger and Matthew Edinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Charles; and a sister, Loretta Fike.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, with Pastor Bruce Vold officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
