Leno Schulz

February 23, 1925 — July 21, 2013

Leno Schulz, 88, Jamestown, ND died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at his home.

Leno was born February 23, 1925 at Woodworth, ND, the son of Albert and Wanda (Goter) Schulz. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowery Township. He helped on the family farm, rented land, trucked grain and coal for area farmers. He left for the US Army on October 1, 1950 and was at Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Benning, GA and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged on September 16, 1952 and returned to North Dakota. On November 28, 1952 Leno married Vera Zenker at Gackle, ND. They moved to a farm in Marstonmoor Township, southwest of Woodworth. They lived and farmed there for 55 years before moving to Jamestown.

Leno's hobbies included deer hunting, researching family history and he sewed many quilt tops for Lutheran World Relief.

Leno is survived by his wife, Vera, Jamestown; six children, Karen (Ken) Marcy, Cheyenne, WY, Janice Schulz, Riverton, WY, Lowell Schulz, Windsor, CO, Myron Schulz, Elko, NV, Diana (Dave) Partyka, Lexington, MA and Kevin (Jodi) Schulz, Minot, ND; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter; four sisters, Selma, Eleanor, Evelyn and Lois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Alvin, Norbert and Randy and one sister, Eunice.
