Leola Pollert, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota.
Leola Henrietta Violet Bickett was born October 1, 1926 in Melville, ND, the daughter of Henry and Emma (LeBahn) Bickett. She attended country schools in Melville township in Foster County, ND, and later received her G.E.D. in 1983. On September 15, 1948 Leola married Mural Pollert, Sr. in Litchville, ND. They farmed in the Marion and Carrington areas until 1961 when Mural started managing grain elevators. Leola worked at K-Mart in Jamestown from 1987 to 1992.
Leola's hobbies included playing Pinochle, Smear and Bingo, watching local sporting events and listening to music. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leola is survived by her five children, Mural (Gail) Pollert, Jr., Jamestown, Chet (Jo) Pollert, Carrington, ND, Linda (Robert) McIlonie, Pingree, ND, David (Patty) Pollert, Carrington, ND and LeAnn Pollert, Jamestown; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Nora Jokumsen, Mahnomen, MN and Violet Boom, Marion, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mural, in 1989; one son, Danny, in infancy; one brother, Merle; and three sisters, Irene, Mary and Grace.
