Leon Kirschenman

Leon Kirschenman, 94, Montpelier, North Dakota died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, ND.

Leon Kirschenman was born July 14, 1909 at Tripp, South Dakota to Karl and Roseina (Bender) Kirschenman. He grew up and attended school near Alpeana, South Dakota. On May 1, 1934 Leon married Adeline Danuser of Marion, ND. They farmed near there until they moved to their home on Highway 46 near Adrian, ND in 1961. Leon entered Central Dakota Village, Jamestown in May, 2003.

Leon was a hard-working farmer who enjoyed raising small grains and especially cattle. He played baseball in his younger years and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. Leon was a member of the Jamestown congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and readily shared his belief in the Bible's promise of the earth becoming a Paradise ruled by God's kingdom.

Leon is survived by two sons, Duane (Faye) Kirschenman, Winson-Salem, NC, Darrel (Tania) Kirschenman, Montpelier, ND; one daughter, Lillian (Ron) Summerfield, Wapheton, ND; three brothers, Otto, Medord, OR; Aaron, Inyokern, CA and Walter, Bandon, OR; four sisters, Viola Kiesby, Marquette, MI; Martha Williams, Tacoma, WA; Heartha Flesher, Bakersfield, CA and Doris Ryan, Tacoma, WA; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Memorial Service: 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2004 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Jamestown.

Visitation: 1:30-3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall before the service.
