Leona L. Johnson, 93, Jamestown, N.D. died Monday, December 23, 2002 at Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, N.D.
Leona Nierling was born November 25, 1909 in Jamestown, N.D., the daughter of Henry and Hannah (O'Brian) Nierling. She attended and graduated from St. John's Academy.
She married Leslie Johnson on November 18, 1932 in Jamestown, N.D. They made their home in Jamestown, N.D. Les died on June 25, 1995.
She was a member of the Basilica of St. James. She enjoyed playing cards, knitting, but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Leona is survived by four daughters, Carol Karstens, of Phoenix, AZ; Leslie (Jim) Flyr, of Vancouver, WA; Linda (Larry) Hansted, of Jamestown, N.D.; Joan Cichos, of Rexburg, ID; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters Mary Nierling and Mildred Fowler, one brother Les Nierling, and one grandson Jeff Bietz.
