Leonard L. Chadwick

Leonard Lindy Chadwick, Age 95 of Jamestown ND, passed away April 29th,2022 at Eventide Nursing home.

Leonard was born August 10th 1927 to Earl and Christine (Glavkee) Chadwick, who resided on a farmstead in Breien ND, where Leonard, his parents, and siblings farmed. In his later teenage years, he left his family farmstead to start working with Eichoff Construction. Leonard worked with the Eichoff construction building roads and bridges, which took him from place to place over the state of North Dakota, Minnesota, taking him to all the way to the west coast for a short period of time.  Along the way he met the love of his life Arlyce Monson. Arlyce and Leonard were married November 29th 1957 in Dilworth Minnesota.  He continued to work with Eichoff Construction, till he started his own trucking company with his brother Melvin named  A.C trucking in Valley City, ND around 1970.  Leonard and Arlyce decided in 1973 it was time to move, and make their roots in Jamestown, ND. While living in Jamestown Leonard turned A.C Trucking into Chadwick Trucking.  They continued Chadwick Trucking until both he and Arlyce retired in 1998.

Leonard enjoyed his family with his two sons, Keith and Mark. Leonard took both sons under his wing and made Chadwick trucking their own family company.

Leonard was overjoyed by having his grandkids running around playing games.  Family time included large gatherings such as picnics, weddings, and anniversary celebrations.

Leonard is survived by his sister Gladeen (Duwayne) Schafer; his two sons Keith (June) Chadwick and Mark Chadwick; 8 Grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Christine; one brother, Melvin; daughter-in-law Vicki Chadwick; grandson Cody Chadwick; great-grandson Ethan Chadwick; 5 Sisters, Elsie, Hazel, Shirley, Florence, and Eleanor.

Memorial Service for Leonard and Arlyce - 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 28, 2025 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial - Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.,
