Leondina Martin

Leondina Martin, 85, Pettibone, North Dakota died Friday, November 8, 2013 at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd, New Rockford, North Dakota.

Leondina Gruebele was born October 20, 1928 in Rexine Township, Kidder County, North Dakota to John and Margaret (Guthmiller) Gruebele. She attended school in Frettim Township, Kidder County. On November 2, 1946, Leondina married Paul Martin in Petersville, North Dakota. They farmed in Petersville Township until Paul passed away in 1981. Leondina stayed on the farm until 2008, when she entered Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford.

Leondina enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, checking cattle in the springtime, farming and really loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Dennis (Gloria) Martin, Bismarck, ND, Darren (Cam Reisnour) Martin Woodworth, ND, Ron(Sylvia) Martin, Pettibone, ND; 8 grandchildren: Shelby (Melanie) Martin, Roddy Rath, Ronda (Brent) Koenig, Crystal (Bruce) Miller, Jared (Kris Ubben) Martin, Evan (Kelly) Martin, Sheri (Jim Morlock) Martin, and Dawn Martin; 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Alvin (special friend Thelma Guthmiller) Gruebele, Jamestown, ND, Lawrence (Doris) Gruebele, Bismarck, ND, Reinhold (special friend Elsie Wolff) Gruebele, Pettibone, ND and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law and four sister-in-laws.
