Leone "Sis" Rehak, 83, Jamestown, ND died on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Jamestown Hospital.
Leone Beverly "Sis" Rehak was born December 17, 1924 in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of George and Sadie (Clark) Griffin. She was raised in Jamestown and attended Lincoln Elementary School and St. John's Academy High School, graduating in 1942. After graduating, she attended Defense School in Ellendale, ND and in 1944, joined the Women's Army Corps. She attended basic training at Camp Pickett in Virginia and was then stationed at Camp Kilmer in New Jersey. During her time in the army she drove buses and jeeps. Following her discharge in 1946, she returned to Jamestown, ND and attended Central Dakota Business College. She then worked for Northwestern Bell. She moved to Minot, ND and worked as a switchboard operator at John Moses Veterans Hospital. After several years, she returned to Jamestown where she worked at F.W. Woolworth. On December 30, 1952, she married Donald Rehak at St. James Catholic Church in Jamestown, ND and they made their home in Jamestown. Leone worked at various businesses in Jamestown over the years. Donald died in 1972.
Leone was a member of St. James Basilica, a lifetime member of Tabernacle Society, a member of the American Legion and the VFW. She enjoyed watching and participating in sports. She loved to swim, played softball when she was in the army and coached Jamestown Ponytail Softball teams.
Survivors include 5 daughters: Mary (Warren C. Anderson) Rehak, Fargo, ND; Carol (Greg) Bailey, Baldwin, ND; Donna (Rob) Lindberg, Jamestown, ND; Ann (Richard) Albrecht, Jamestown, ND; Sue (Marty) Lehman, Fargo, ND and 10 grandchildren: Matthew, Jennifer and Mitchell Bailey; Robert and SPC Ryan Lindberg; Michael and Jamie Schmidt; Megan Albrecht and Eden and Keith Lehman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her twin brother, Richard; a brother, Bob and a grandson, Anthony Schmidt.
Funeral Service - 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND
Prayer Service - 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - Noon until 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services in the church on Monday
Interment - Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
