Leone Willey, 89, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Sunday evening, January 14, 2018 at Eventide Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown.
Leone was born August 13, 1928 in Ypsilanti, ND, the daughter of William and Olene (Olson) Erickson. Leone married Donald Willey on October 17, 1947 in Jamestown by Rev. McCoy. Leone attended schools in Ypsilanti and graduated from Jamestown High School. Leone worked as a teller at Jamestown National Bank, a bookkeeper for Willey & Edinger Texaco Service & Trailer Court, a clerk at the Stutsman County Courthouse Auditors Office, a bookkeeper for Willey Septic Tank Service and founder and inventor of the Wheelchair Recline. Leone was an artist and enjoyed painting, and enjoyed listening to music, playing games and cards.
Leone is survived by husband, Donald Willey, Jamestown; son Robert (Ann) Willey, Fort Wayne, IN; and two grandchildren, Kristen Willey, Fort Wayne, IN; Kara (Trevis) Hull, Fort Wayne, IN; and sisters Evelyn Clemens, Fargo, ND; Lillian Peckham, Jamestown, ND; Arlene Lueck, Jamestown, ND.
Leone was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Phyllis Willey; brothers; Henry Erickson, Oscar Erickson, Floyd Erickson, Carl Erickson; and sister Wilma Dally.
The family prefers memorials to Jamestown Regional Medical Center Hospice.
Family will receive guests: 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, January 20, 2018. The memorial service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown in the spring.
