LeRoy Aljoe, 79, Ypsilanti, ND, died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at Medcenter One Hospital, Bismarck, ND.
LeRoy Stephen Aljoe was born January 24, 1928 on the family farm in Corwin Township, near Ypsilanti, ND, the son of John and Marie (Janz) Aljoe. He was raised on the family farm and attended the Corwin Township School. LeRoy was baptized into the Lutheran Church on October 22, 1937. He worked on the family farm until he and his brother, Melvin, bought their own farm, also in Corwin Township, near Ypsilanti, ND, where they have lived and raised grains and cattle until the present. LeRoy also served in the United States Army from April 1946 until April, 1947. He had his basic training at Camp Polk, Louisiana and then was stationed in Japan until his discharge.
LeRoy enjoyed life on the farm. He also enjoyed watching TV, ballgames, playing cards, visiting with family and friends and watching the deer, pheasants and other wild life from the window of his home.
Survivors include 2 brothers: Darrell (Cristal) Roscoe, TX and Everett (Vangie) Bismarck, ND; a sister, Dorothy (Dennis) Hendrickson, Montpelier, ND; 3 nieces, 5 nephews; several great nieces and nephews and 1 aunt: Florence Janz, El Cajon, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Wesley, in infancy, Raymond in 1995 and Melvin in 2006.
Funeral - 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Montpelier Lutheran Church with Reverend Terry Anderson officiating.
Visitation - 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Interment - Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
