Leroy Bump

Leroy Bump, 77, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003 at his home.

Leroy was born February 18, 1926 in Jamestown, the only child of George and Bernice (Perry) Bump, rural Jamestown. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1944. He farmed with his father until the late 50's, after which he went into sales and sold a variety of items through the years. He met and married his wife Mary in 1963. They recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. In February 1994 he started delivering newspapers and in over 9 years he never missed a day of delivery of his 10 routes. Leroy was awarded Carrier of the Year in 1996.

He was loved and known by many and will be missed by all that knew him. Good-bye old friend!

Leroy is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Weston (Sabine) Baker, Farmington, MI, Perry Bump, Jamestown and Steven Bump, Vacaville, CA; one daughter, Dawn (Daniel) Jasmann, Lisbon, ND; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Allen Baker and a grandson, Michael Jasmann.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 28, 2003 at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating.

Visitation: 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday, June 27, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, June 27, 2003 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
