Leroy Fust

Leroy Fust, 81, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon, ND.

Leroy was born November 7, 1927 in Jamestown, the son of Fred and Martha (Viergutz) Fust. He grew up and attended school in Jamestown. On March 17, 1951 Leroy enlisted in the United States Army and completed boot camp in April 1951. Upon his discharge in March 1953 he returned to Jamestown and worked at the ND State Hospital as a bus driver and also drove taxi cab. In April 1969 Leroy married Bernice Powers in Jamestown. Bernice died October 12, 1993.

He enjoyed music, especially playing the accordion and having coffee with his friends.

Leroy is survived by his daughter, Hollie Fust (Cory Thompson), Washburn, ND; one stepdaughter, Theresa Gallagher, Jamestown; one sister, Bernice Suko, Jamestown; four grandchildren, Angie Kliem, Beth Gallagher, Heidi Gallagher, and Priscilla Gallagher; and five great-grandchildren, Carley and Micaiah Kliem, Ryan Kapp, Dillon Kapp, and Brianna Guthmiller.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, and his parents.

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, February 2, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Wayne Bangs officiating.
