Leroy A. Jorgenson

LeRoy A. Jorgenson, 82, of Jamestown, ND died Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the Jamestown Hospital.

LeRoy Jorgenson was born October 14, 1919 in Ypsilanti, ND, the son of Alfred ""Fred"" and Hattie Emma (Schulz) Jorgenson. He grew up and received his education in Ypsilanti. He enlisted in the US Army on February 7, 1942 at Ft. Snelling, MN. LeRoy served in the Asiatic Pasific Theater during WWII and was discharged on November 1, 1945 at Ft. Benning, GA. In 1944, LeRoy married Azzie Lee Shehane in Georgia. He worked at Bibb Textile Mill in Georgia until his retirement. Azzie died in 1970. LeRoy returned to North Dakota and lived in Jamestown where his home has been since.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Jerry) Price of Phenix City, AL; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; special friend, Bernadine Knoll of Jamestown, ND; and two sisters-in-law, Allee Shehane and Lorriane Jorgenson of Jamestown, ND.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Azzie Lee; second wife, Bertha; parents; son, LeRoy Edward; and two brothers, Elmer (in infancy) and Robert.

Funeral Service: 2:00PM Friday, October 18, 2002 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor JoAnne Moeller officiating.

Visitation: Thursday, October 17, 2002 from 9:00AM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Ypsilanti Cemetery, Ypsilanti, North Dakota.
