Lesley Theisen, 86, Jamestown, ND died on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.
Lesley Theisen was born August 16, 1919 on the family farm near Berlin, ND, the son of Peter and Anna (Matski) Theisen. He was raised on the farm and attended the rural schools. After his schooling he worked on the family farm and then went to Michigan with his brother, Wesley, to work in a steel factory. After a year they returned to Berlin and a short time later he joined the United States Navy and served during World War II. Following his honorable discharge in 1944, he returned to Berlin. On October 17, 1945, he married Adeline Bollinger and they settled on a farm near Dickey, ND. They later farmed at several other farms in the area before moving to Billings, Montana where he worked at an oil refinery. After returning to North Dakota they lived at Millarton. He was employed by the North Dakota State Hospital. They later lived at Alfred, Fried and Medina before moving to Jamestown in 1977 where he worked at the YMCA for 9 years before retiring.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline; 4 children: MaryAnn (Dean) Hanson, Drayton, ND; Linda Mae (Robert) Thomas, Fairfax, VA; Douglas (Brenda) Theisen, Oslo, MN; Patricia (Ryan) Anderson, Spearfish, SD; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Luella Mahan, Concord, CA; 2 sisters-in-law: Kathy White and Rose Krein; a brother-in-law, Steve Bollinger and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Paul and Wesley.
