Leslie Nicholson, 102, Tappen, North Dakota, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Leslie was born in Thompson, Iowa, near Buffalo Center, the eldest son of Wesley and Lillie (Stuart) Nicholson on December 6, 1902. In 1909, he moved with his family to a homestead south of Dawson. He attended Liberty School.
He was united in marriage to Clara Koestler at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Tappen on November 15, 1936, and they farmed in Valley and Liberty Townships until 1943, when they moved into Tappen.
Leslie is survived by his two children, Carl (Norma) Nicholson of Mandan, ND and Marlys (Larry) Enzminger of Tappen, one sister, Lois Arusell, Steele, ND, 6 grandchildren; Darwin (Danette), Kari, Kyle and Darl (Claudette) Enzminger; Paige (David) Law and Blake (Tara) Nicholson and 12 great-grandchildren; Brandi, Desiree, Trenton, Clayton and Samantha Enzminger; Samantha Llewellyn; Zachary and Sabrina Nicholson; Devon Rassett; Corie, Kendall and Alexandra Law.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, parents, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, January 3, 2005 at the United Methodist Church, Steele, North Dakota.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, January 2, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Dawson Cemetery, Dawson, North Dakota.
