Lila Larson, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota died after a brief illness on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.
Lila Olson was born December 12, 1922 in Streeter, North Dakota the daughter of John G. and Caroline (Rue) Olson. On October 10, 1939 she married Irvan Larson . They farmed in the Courtenay Wimbledon area for many years. They relocated to Jamestown in 1966. After moving to Jamestown, Lila owned and operated Larson's Greenhouse on Fourth Avenue Northwest. She was also employed by White's Home Center for many years.
Lila was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Jamestown and she so enjoyed giving of herself to teaching Sunday School and CYC. As a quilter, she was awarded several blue ribbons for her works displayed at the Stutsman County Fair.
Lila is survived by seven children, Rev. Gerald Larson, Burlington, KY; Douglas I. (Patricia) Larson, Findlay, OH; Bruce O. Larson, Missoula, MT; Karen M. Larson, Minneapolis, MN; Kathy L. Castor, New Castle, IN; Joel C. (Sue McDonald) Larson, Hampden, ME and Rebecca S. Whitney, Jamestown, 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Orville (Ianne) Olson, New Boston, TX and Vernon (Gwen) Olson, Napa, CA and one sister, Hazel Staloch of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvan, parents, two children, Lowell & Sharon, one sister, Crystal Lehrke and four brothers, Clifford, Leon, Orlin & Norris.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, March 24, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald Larson officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 23, 2006 with the family present for receiving condolences between 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
