Lillian Backer

Lillian Backer, 93, Jamestown, North Dakota died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown. Lillian Backer was born September 24, 1921 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Herbert and Augusta (Jeske) Backer. She grew up and attended school in Bloom Township, northeast of Jamestown. Lillian worked for Jamestown Hospital in housekeeping for 17 years. Lillian enjoyed baking and helping fold newsletters at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown. Lillian received the United Methodist Women Special Mission Recognition award in 1994. Lillian and her sister Harriet both received the Jewel of a Woman in Mission award from the United Methodist Women in 2008. She is survived by her cousin, Roy (Mary) Werner, Jamestown, ND. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Oscar, three sisters, Dorothy, Arley and Harriet.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Pastor Arlyn Coalter, officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday February 11 at church.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery.
