Lillian Jonietz

Lillian Shirlee (Haas) Jonietz was born on December 31, 1927 and died on March 7, 2023 at the age of 95.  Lillian was born to Lydia and Emmanuel Haas on the family farm North of Cleveland ND, she was the youngest of 5 children.

Lillian attended country school and attended Sheyenne River Academy in Harvey ND for High School. While attending SRA she met the love of her life Kenneth Jonietz.

Ken and Lillian were united in marriage on September 12, 1948 in Jamestown ND. To this union 3 children were born:  Vickee (Randy) Anderson, David (Leslie Blair) Jonietz and Sally (Gerald) Nuhsbaumer.

Both Ken and Lillian taught country school before moving to Mankato MN for Ken to work in the X-ray Department at the Hospital. Lillian got her Elementary Teaching Degree from Mankato State Univeristy and taught for many years in Mankato and North Mankato MN.

After retirement Ken and Lillian moved to Jamestown ND and remained there till Lillian’s death.

Lillian is survived by her her husband of 74 years Kenneth, children Vickee, David and Sally and Sister Evelyn Rosin. Grandchildren: Ross and Sara Anderson and Aaron, Breanna and Bethany Nuhsbaumer; Great Grandchildren Mackennzie, Lyndzie, and Lexzie Anderson and Aidan and Jackson Nuhsbaumer plus numerous nieces and nephews.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Lloyd, Virgil and Elmer and several Brother and Sister-in-laws.

There will be a burial at a later date at the Medina Country Cemetery.
