Inez Lillian Wood Neumann, 83, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Monday, December 27, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.
Inez Lillian Gorthy was born November 14, 1921, near Courtenay, North Dakota, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Schoeler) Gorthy. They moved to Jamestown in 1930. She married Paul J. Wood on October 25, 1938 and they lived on a farm southwest of Jamestown for about 10 years. Inez worked at the North Dakota State Hospital from 1955 to 1983 when she retired. Paul died on September 22, 1969. She married William Neumann in 1980 and they were later divorced.
Inez enjoyed working in her yard, watching soaps and dancing.
Inez is survived by her two daughters, Joan Fietzek of Jamestown and Temple (Peter) Ruscheinsky of Fargo, ND; a special friend, Bert Fried of Jamestown; five grandchildren, Brock and Wade Fietzek, Jamestown, Kimberly (Wayne) Sterns, Butte, MT, Troy (Wendy) Ruscheinsky, Moorhead, MN and Peter (Angie) Ruscheinsky, Butte, MT; five great-grandchildren, Ashton, Madison and Samuel Sterns and Carson and Rylan Ruscheinsky, all of Butte, MT; one step great-grandddaughter, Amy Walker and one step great-great granddaughter, Jada Walker, both of Fargo; two half sisters, Mary Lee (John) O'Meara, Jamestown and Barbara (Gordon) Bullock, Boise, ID and two half brothers, Johnnie (Shirley) Gorthy, Minot, ND and Conrad Moen, Mesa, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-mother, Lydia Gorthy, step-father, Hans Moen, one sister, Doris, one step great granddaughter, Brittney Buckley and a son-in-law, Dean Fietzek.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 30, 2004 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
