Lillian "Lil" M Spravzoff

January 19, 1936 — May 14, 2023

Lillian (Lil) Spravzoff, age 87, passed away peacefully in the presence of family, listening to old time country music on May 14, 2023.

Lil, the daughter of Anna Hochstetter and Albert Fisher, was born January 19, 1936, one of 10 children.

Lillian married Ray Spravzoff in May 1953.   They were happily married for 62 years.   After retirement, they moved to Pick City, North Dakota in order to spend more time fishing on Lake Sakakawea.   Lil consistently claimed that she always out fished Ray, catching the biggest and most.  For over 30 years they enjoyed their winters “snow-birding” in Apache Junction, Arizona.

Lil loved fishing, camping, cooking, playing cards and traveling.  In her teen years, she moved from the rural Fisher farm and worked for her room and board which allowed her to attend high school.  Lil promoted the importance of family values and exhibited an industrious German work ethic. On special occasions she often cooked two of the family’s favorite recipes – Cottage Cheese Buttons and “Pigs in the Blanket”.

Lil was lifelong member of the Lutheran church.  She generously gave much of her time to community volunteer activities.

Lil is survived by her sons:  Steve (Ann) Spravzoff (Flagstaff, Az.), Mark Spravzoff (Tamy Lee) (Watford City, No. Dak.), Grandchildren:  Shane Spravzoff, Amber (Guy) Fridley, Kristi Knecht (Stephen), 5 Great Grandchildren, Sisters Pearl Eck and Shirley Beteau, Brother Albert Fisher Jr. (Sonny), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lil was preceded in death by her husband Ray, sisters Helen (Suko) and Garnet (Perleberg), brothers Elmer, Clark, Lynn and Ray, and granddaughter Amy Spravzoff.

A celebration of Lil’s life has been scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, 11 am at Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, North Dakota.  The family would appreciate any memorial gifts in Lil’s honor to be given to the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.

Eddy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
