Linde Serba, 82, Jamestown, ND died on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown, ND.
Linde Jane Serba was born December 28, 1937 at Colver, PA the daughter of Anthony J. and Elizabeth J. (Kline) Mutter. At age 12 she moved with her family to Albuquerque, NM where she graduated from Albuquerque High School. She attended Burroughs Business School and worked for Valley Gold Dairy, Albuquerque National Bank and Mountain State Telephone and Telegraph, all of Albuquerque. Linde married Robert Serba at Kirkland Air Force Base at Albuquerque on May 28, 1958. They moved to Jamestown, ND in July, 1960. She was employed as Head Bookkeeper at the North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown from 1961 until she retired due to ill health in 1973. She also attended Jamestown College. Linde was instrumental in the organization of the N. D. State Employees Association and was a charter member.
Survivors include her husband; 1 son Stephen; 1 daughter, Jayne A. Serba, San Francisco, CA; 2 grandchildren, Ramona Lea and Rebecca Lynn Serba, both Allentown, PA; and 2 Goddaughters, Callie Lee and Claycee Kay Olson, both Jamestown; a long time family friend, Lesha Olson, Jamestown; 1 sister, Alice Cummings, Medford, MA and 3 brothers, James (Carol) Mutter, and Raymond Mutter, both Brownsberg, IN and Jeffrey (Bonnie) Mutter, Layton, Utah. Her parents preceded her in death.
Linde was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Jamestown, Jamestown Art Center Youth Program and the Jamestown College Theatre program. She enjoyed arts and crafts, her contact with and helping young people, her friends, keeping up with current events, history and television.
A service celebrating the lives of Robert and Linde Serba will be held will be held at the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown ND at 302 2nd Ave SE on Saturday August 8th at 10:30 am.
The service will also be live-streamed on Facebook live at 10:30am and available for viewing later on the church Facebook site.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Presbyterian Youth Group.
Memorials: May be directed to United Presbyterian Youth Group or the Jamestown Arts Program.
