Lloyd Aanderud

Lloyd Aanderud, 91, Jamestown, North Dakota died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown.

Lloyd was born January 20, 1916, in South Viking Township, rural Maddock, ND, to Claus and Marie (Vangen) Aanderud. Lloyd attended grade school in the Hellerud and Bergsgaard schools and high school at the Benson County Agricultural and Training School in Maddock. Lloyd met the lady of his dreams in Maddock and they were married on September 12, 1942. Lloyd and Vivian farmed in the South Viking Township for several years before Lloyd joined the North Dakota Farmers Union, in 1951. They moved to Jamestown and raised six children. During their long happy marriage, they traveled to almost every state in the Union. Lloyd retired from the Farmers Union in August 1981. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children, brothers and brother-in-law, and their children.

Surviving are his wife Vivian, Jamestown; four sons, Larry (Peggy) China Lake, CA, Richie (Sandy) Grand Forks, ND, Robert (Ivy), Ventura, CA, Kim (Annie) Kings Bay, GA; two daughters, Janet (Mark) Berg, Seattle, WA and Debbie Aanderud, Jamestown, nine grandchildren: Sarah Aanderud, Seattle; Charles Aanderud, Tacoma, WA; Jason Berg, Seattle; Jeremy Aanderud, Wichita, KS; Christian Aanderud, Ventura, CA; Pam, China Lake, CA; Kimberly and Shawn Aanderud, Kings Bay, GA and Stephanie Aanderud, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers Walter, Edwin, Harry, and Randell, and two sisters Clarice Nelson, and Gladys Gilbertson.

Memorial Service: 1:30 PM, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Speaker Karl Bergh officiating.
