Lloyd A. Golde

November 16, 1918 — October 8, 2007

Lloyd A. Golde, 88, Jamestown, ND died Monday, October 8, 2007 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo.

Lloyd was born November 16, 1918 at Judson, ND, the son of Frank and Josephine (Schulz) Golde. He grew up on the family farm near Judson. He worked on farms in Montana before entering the Army Air Force during WWII working as an aircraft mechanic in the Pacific Theater.

After the war he worked at a dairy at Mandan, ND and as a mechanic in Riverdale, ND during construction of the Garrison Dam. He married Leona Briggs on August 21, 1950. They farmed near Judson, ND from 1952 to 1958.

In 1958 they moved to Jamestown where he worked as an automobile mechanic until 1977. He enjoyed gardening, wood working, and being grandpa to all the neighborhood children.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Leona Golde, Jamestown; a son Frank (Pam) Golde, Jamestown; a daughter Kathy Golde, Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren: Tori (Steve) Hockert, Wahpeton, ND; Erik Kehl, Saipan; and Shane Kehl, Fargo, ND; two great grandchildren, Caden and Carter Hockert, Wahpeton, ND; and two sisters Laverne Ruether, Missoula, MT and Louise Heid, Bismarck, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Larry; one sister and three brothers.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Pastor Tom Eckstein officiating.

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: Lutheran Cemetery, New Salem, North Dakota
