Lois Margret Althof

Lois Althof, 80, Jamestown, ND passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 in the Palliative Care Unit, Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND.
Lois Margret Scholz was born June 18, 1936 in Jamestown, ND to Richard and Tena (Mammenga) Scholz. She attended school in Windsor, ND. On September 28, 1953 she married Lloyd Schlecht. She married John Althof on February 21, 1975.
Lois worked at White Drug, Jamestown, in the camera shop and later managed "Lois' Camera Shop", to which she later added a floral business. Lois and John later were managers of Northland Estate Trailer Park and owned and operated a successful home rental business where at one time they owned many trailer homes and a triplex.
Lois loved working in her yard and with her many plants and flowers. She also collected coins and antiques. She was especially fond of collecting antique glassware and visiting the casinos.
Lois had a hug heart and she was always helping her friends and family especially when they were sick. She made many trips to Fargo taking others to doctor appointments and for treatments.
She is survived by her husband, John Althof, Jamestown, ND; one son, Tim (Gina) Schlecht, Billings, MT; one daughter, Cindy (Don) Gohner, Montpelier, ND; step-children, Kim (Cal) Dowhaniuk, Dickinson, ND, Rick (Tracy) Althof, Brady, TX, John (Patsy) Althof, Helena, MT; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delores Rosemore and Marlene Stickel. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, David Schlecht and a daughter, Brenda Vieths, two brothers, Ernest, Ervin, and three sisters, Irene, Edith and Levon.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 4 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Erik Weber, officiating.
Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 3 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, August 3 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens.
