Lois Baker

Lois L. Baker, 87, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center of heart complications.

Lois Louise Schrade was born on February 24, 1931 near Wimbledon ND to Alma (Bischoff) and Glen Schrade. She had 2 older brothers, Ernest and Lloyd and 2 younger brothers, Mearl and Harland.

At age 2 the family moved to Jamestown where she graduated from Jamestown High School in 1949. She married Eldon Baker in Jamestown ND on November 25, 1949. Lois was a stay at home mom to 5 children and worked for a period of time at the Jamestown High School as a librarian. In their later years Lois & Eldon worked for Robert Ibes Sr. and lived south of Jamestown on a farm. They returned to Jamestown in 1983. After 61 years of marriage Eldon passed away on April 11, 2011. At the time of her death, Lois was a resident of The Heritage Center in Jamestown.

Lois & Eldon were members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown and charter members of the Jamestown Classic Car Club. Lois enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, flowers and baking.

She is survived by four sons: Dana, Jamestown, Neil (Judi), Jamestown, Gaylon (Barb), Custer SD and Lowell (Jacci), Jamestown and one son-in-law, Cory Heidinger, Jamestown. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Eldon, beloved daughter Lynn Marie Heidinger, parents Glen Schrade & Alma (Walter) Kleinjan, stepmother Frieda Schrade, step sister Lois Rae (Schrade) Guthmiller and her 4 brothers Ernest, Lloyd, Mearl and Harland.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor James Nauman officiating.

Visitation: 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens
