Lois Mae Kapfer

Lois Mae Kapfer, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota died Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.

Lois Loose was born July 14, 1925 in Morgan, Minnesota, the daughter of Gustiv and Helena (Muenchow) Loose. She moved to Woodworth, ND in 1928 with her family. She graduated from Woodworth High School at the top of her classs in 1943. Lois married Elroy Kapfer in 1948. They had two sons, Michael and John. They later divorced. Lois worked at Jamestown College in the financial department from 1964 until her retirement in 1990.

Lois enjoyed traveling the world, reading, playing cards and bridge and especially spending time with her family.

Lois is survived by her her sons, Michael and John, both of Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Kelly Kapfer, Bismarck, ND, Steven Kapfer, West Fargo, ND, Kristine (Jamison) Reineke, Bismarck and Michelle (Joshua) Baumer, Fargo; eight great-grandchildren, Brenden Kapfer, Brody Kapfer, Shonda Reineke, Rebecca Reineke, Vanessa Reineke, Matthew Baumer, Markus Baumer, and MaryAnn Baumer; one brother, Lawrence (Ardell) Loose, Jamestown; and one sister, Myrna (John) Kourajian, St. Cloud, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Elwood and Glenn in infancy and Lowell and one sister, Maureen Garrett.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Tom Eckstein officiating.

Visitation: 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: Gem Cemetery, Woodworth, North Dakota
