Lois Petersen, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Ave Maria Village Nursing Home, Jamestown. Lois Jane Ketelsen was born April 2, 1931, in Wimbledon, ND the daughter of Andrew and Myrtle (Stamnes) Ketelsen. Lois was baptized on December 12, 1931, at the Lutheran parsonage in Charlotte, IA. She was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wimbledon, ND on October 2, 1949. Lois attended school at rural Stutsman County schools and Wimbledon High School. On October 24, 1949, Lois married Marvin A. Petersen at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wimbledon, ND. Born to them were four children, Joan Marie, Richard Marvin, Robert David and Steven Douglas. Lois and Marvin divorced in 1958. She obtained her GED in 1959 and attended Matchie Business College. Lois was employed at the ND State Hospital, Montgomery Ward Store, Jamestown Police Department and Stutsman County Sheriff's Department. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown Hospital Auxiliary, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and a Lifetime member of North Dakota Peace Officers Assoc. Lois enjoyed reading, oil painting, volunteering, family and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Jill) Petersen, Steven Petersen; brother, Dale (Arlene) Ketelsen; sister, Kay Deuitch; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one daughter and one son, Richard.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Erik Weber, officiating.
Visitation: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 30 at Eddy Funeral Chapel.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens

In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to, JRMC Hospice and/or St. John's Lutheran Church.
