Lois Anne Siebert, 82, Jamestown, ND, passed away Monday August 15, 2011 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND.
Lois was born to John and Ethel Heinsen on March 22, 1929 in McHenry, ND. At a young age she moved with her family to New Rockford, ND, where she attended school graduating in 1947. Upon graduating high school she began teaching in a one room schoolhouse in Sheyenne, ND. In 1950 she attended Minot State University to pursue a degree in teaching. Upon graduating she taught in Rugby and New Rockford, ND before settling in Jamestown, ND where she taught until her retirement in 1989.
On December 27, 1965 Lois Heinsen and Roy Siebert Jr. were married in Jamestown, ND. She continued her teaching career in Jamestown, ND while her husband Roy farmed the family farm in Edmunds, ND. Roy and Lois adopted two children, Dale and Dalene. They enjoyed traveling, camping and boating with family and friends.
Upon retirement Lois worked part-time at The Fair Store in Jamestown and enjoyed spending her spare time with her bustling group of grandchildren. She always made a point to be at each and every important moment in each one of her grandchildren?s lives.
Lois is survived by her husband Roy, Jamestown; son Dale and special friend Julie, Fort Drum, NY; daughter Dalene (Scott) Sorenson, Owatonna, MN; brother Gayle (Beverly) Heinsen, Dickinson, ND; grandchildren Zachariah and Logan Siebert, and their mother Bonnie Siebert, Fargo, ND; Megan, Seth, Jade Huseby, Tyler, Spencer and Jack Sorenson all of Owatonna, MN; Chelsey Swangler, Minneapolis, MN; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers Lyle and Earl Heinsen, half sister Dora Eggleson, half brothers John and Henry Heinsen, and granddaughter Morgan Jae Huseby.
