Lois Wiest, 90, Jamestown, ND, formerly Edgeley, ND died at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown on Saturday, February 11, 2006.
Lois Lucille Pottratz was born on September 2, 1915 at Pipestone, MN, the daughter of Walter and Minnie (Kaderman) Pottratz. She moved to Kennison Township near Nortonville, ND in 1916 with her family and attended school in the Kennison Township school and Millarton High School and graduated from Edgeley High School in 1933. Lois worked on the Glen Olson Dairy Farm before she married Emil Wiest at Bismarck on October 28, 1946. They settled on a farm South East of Edgeley and later purchased a farm North East of Edgeley where they farmed until retiring in 1982. They then moved to Jamestown. Emil died on March 8, 2004. She has continued to live in Jamestown becoming a resident of Central Dakota Village in October, 2004.
Survivors include 3 sisters, Myrtle Gatz Henderson, Loretta Parfit and Opal McCarthy Whitney, all Jamestown and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband and 1 sister, Grace, preceded her in death.
Lois was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown and was an active member of the funeral committee there. She enjoyed needlework and flower gardening.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2006 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Reverend Doug Opp officiating.
Prayer Service: 4:00 p.m. Monday at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown and 1 hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday.
Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
