Lori Kay Metz

Lori Kay Metz, 56, of Montpelier, ND, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.

Lori was born to Quincy and Caroline (Stroh) Maw on February 7, 1964 in Jamestown, ND. She grew up on a farm 3 miles North of Tappen, ND and graduated from Tappen High School. Her most recent employment was at the David Glinz farm, where she has worked for many years. She was very dedicated and passionate about this job and felt at home on the farm. Her many craftsman skills allowed her to tackle challenging situations. Lori also currently worked as the custodian for the Montpelier Lutheran Church and for the water department for the City of Montpelier.

She met the love of her life Mark Metz in 1994. They were married on October 18, 2001 in the Montpelier Lutheran Church. They built their life together in Montpelier, North Dakota.

Lori’s family always came first and her grandchildren were very dear to her heart. She loved spending quality time with them doing outdoor activities. She loved bicycling, playing ball with the kids and taking long walks. She also enjoyed shooting sports, canoeing & Fishing, swimming and scuba diving.

Lori is survived by her husband, Mark; two daughters, Ann Lilly of Indio, CA and Kimberly Jackson of Montpelier; one son, Kevin Hoff of Bismarck, ND; seven grandchildren, Savannah Lilly, Silas & Dale Orf, Wyatt Hoff, Austin Jackson and Jameson & Madelyn Hoff; parents, Quincy and Caroline Maw of Tappen, ND; sisters, Nancy (Larry) Christensen of Jamestown, ND, Brenda Maw (Jerry Benson) of Bismarck, ND, Susan (Brian) Rodlund of Sisseton, SD; brothers, Dennis (Penny) Maw of Casper, WY and David Maw of Tappen; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kayla Hoff.

Honorary pallbearers are her 7 grandchildren: Savannah, Silas, Dale, Wyatt, Austin, Jameson & Madelyn.

Public Visitation: 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown, ND.

Private Family Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at Montpelier Lutheran Church, Montpelier, ND.
