Lorraine Wibstad, 82, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.
Lorraine Johnson was born February 21, 1924 in Fargo, North Dakota to Elliot and Sina (Lura) Johnson. She was raised in Marion, ND and attended school at Greenland Country School. Lorraine was an All-State Basketball player. On July 1, 1944 she married Sidney Wibstad in Jamestown. They farmed in Ypsilanti all of their lives. Lorraine worked at Vaught Hardware in Ypsilanti for 22 years as secretary/bookkeeper. Sidney died on May 7, 1996.
Lorraine loved playing bingo, gardening, planting flowers in her yard and she really enjoyed baking.
Lorraine is survived by a daughter, Audrey Heupel, Inver Grove Heights, MN; two sons, Alan (Betty) Wibstad, Montpelier, ND and Terry (Rosalie) Wibstad, Jamestown; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl (Blanche) Johnson, Jamestown and Lester Johnson, Arthur, ND; three sisters, Doris (Francis) Orr, Jamestown, Velma Fruetel, Grand Forks, ND and Shirley Johnson, Otsego, MN; a brother-in-law, Owen Wibstad, Jamestown and two sisters-in-law, Arlene Van Dam, Jamestown and Delores Johnson, Gackle, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, Lloyd, two sisters, Frances and Helen, a grandson, Tucker Wibstad, three sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law.
Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jamestown, with Pastor John Syvertson, officiating.
Visitation: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Ypsilanti Cemetery, Ypsilanti, North Dakota.
