On Thursday February 9th Lorraine passed away peacefully at Sanford hospital in Fargo ND.
Lorraine Nora Williams was born on December 7th, 1933 on the family farm in Sinclair Township near Gackle, ND. She was the daughter of Jacob and Rose Wolff. Sister to Irene (Glen) Zillmer Clarence (Della) Wolff and Stanley (Eileen) Wolff.
Lorraine met the love of her life, George “Pick” Williams at a dance. They were married on November 18th, 1951. They welcomed their only child, Jay George in 1953.
For years they were inseparable. That was something they were very proud of. They set an exemplary standard of what “for better or worse” looks like. Through good and challenging times – they approached everything together. United in their faith and commitment to their family and to each other.
Together, they worked side by side for 67 years. Building a family, a home, and a farm. They both were immensely proud farmers. They shared a love of collecting. From Redwing and Dakota Pottery to Cast Iron Seats – Their knowledge was as vast as their collection. Through their passions they collected as many stories and friends as they did pieces.
Lorraine loved her family. She was fiercely protective, generous with her time and her “envelopes”. We will miss her long-distance birthday songs. She loved God, her farm, word searches, games shows and polka music.
She never met an ice cream she didn’t like.
Lorraine was Brave. She was adamant about remaining on the family farm after she lost Pick. It’s where her memories were and where she felt closest to him. It’s where a great love story started and it is only fitting that the final chapter would close there too.
Lorraine, Ma, Grandma will be remembered lovingly by her son Jay “Jay Boy” and his wife Jan (“Just the daughter in-law”) Whitesboro, TX.
Grandson Kord (Jeanna)- Lakeville MN and her great-granddaughter’s Lesly (Paul) and Madison.
We are comforted that she is now home. Reunited with the love of her life, Pick and with her favorite girl Kassey Jo.
Don’t Worry Ma, We will turn the lights off.
