Lorraine Zuber

Lorraine Zuber, 75, Jamestown, North Dakota died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.

Lorraine E. Schlaht was born September 28, 1929 at Cleveland, North Dakota the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth ""Haken"" Schlaht. She received her education at Cleveland and moved to Jamestown. She went to Jamestown High School and furthered her education attending Central Dakota Commerical College. Lorraine married Frank W. Zuber on October 11, 1945 in Bismarck, ND. They moved to Chicago, IL where she worked for Western Electric, maker of Bell Telephones. Returning to Jamestown in 1949 she worked for a short time at the ND State Hospital. In 1970 they moved to Myrtle Creek, Oregon where Lorraine worked for the Myrtle Creek Hospital. They returned to Jamestown and Lorraine worked at the Jamestown Clinic as a lab assistant and for 12 years at Leever's Super Valu retiring in 1988 due to ill health. She always liked to further her education with various continuing education classes. Frank died on March 28, 1992.

Lorraine was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was active in in the Altar Guild, a Christ Care group, quilting and volunteering in whatever and whenever she could. She enjoyed bowling for many years and going to coffee with the ""coffee girls.""

Lorraine is survived by a daughter, Joyce (Dale Ripplinger) Wilkinson, Cathay, ND, a son, Buzz Zuber, Horace, ND, four grandchildren, Brent Wilkinson and Mandy Wilkinson both of Jamestown, Rhanon Zuber and Frank B. Zuber, both of Horace, one great-grandchild, Devean Cross, one brother, Lloyd (Irene) Schlaht, Hermiston, OR and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, March 14, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dennis Ellingsen officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 13, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Sunday, March 13, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
