Louis Beyer

Louis Beyer, 64, Adrian, North Dakota, died Monday, December 31, 2007 at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, ND, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Louis ""Louie"" was born on April 11, 1943 in Marion, North Dakota, the son of Lawrence and Elsie (Brimer) Beyer. He grew up on a farm near Marion and went to Saratoga Township School. Louie joined the US Army on April 22, 1964 where he was trained as a track vehicle mechanic, an explosive expert and a sharpshooter. He was honorably discharged on April 21, 1966. Louie married Rosemary Walks in West Fargo on June 4, 1966. Soon after they moved to Savage, MT where he worked in a gas station. In 1970 they returned to North Dakota where they settled near Adrian, ND. Louie worked for Scherbenske and Sons and later Northern Improvement as a Finish Blade Operator for 30 years, retiring in the fall of 2005.

Louie enjoyed playing guitar, gardening, his loving dog, Zeek, his grandchildren and spending time in his shop.

Louie is survived by his wife, Rosemary, Adrian; four daughters, Lorrie (Loren) Nantt, Dickinson, ND, Sandy Knight, Marion, ND, Sally (Jon) Carlson, Forest River, ND and Shelly (Greg) Smith, Marion, ND; nine granddaughters, Sadie, Katy, Alexis, Codie, Allison, Morgan, Hannah, MaKenzie and Grace; three grandsons, Raymond, Garrett and Zach; two sisters, Sally Jersey, Nortonville, ND and Margie Froehlich, Marion and his faithful dog, Zeek.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Dickey, ND with Pastor Lucinda Nygard Lien officiating.

Visitation: 12:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.
