Luella Ost

LuElla Ost, 87, of Jud, ND, died on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.

LuElla was born on October 13, 1925, near Kulm, ND, the daughter of Martin and Lydia (Rath) Kinzler. LuElla received her elementary education in the Kulm area. She worked in Jamestown until she married Clarence Ost on December 30, 1947. They farmed near Nortonville until 1965 when they moved to Jud. LuElla worked at Nortonville School as a cook and later as a cook at the Jud School and Jud Café. LuElla loved to cook and bake. She was always willing to help out with baked goods at any event. She opened her home over the years to numerous boarders, including several teachers.

LuElla enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and visiting with her friends.

Clarence died in 1983 and LuElla continued to reside in Jud until May 1, 2012 when she entered Ave Maria Village.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jud.

LuElla is survived by daughter, Karen (Donald) Carlson, Edgeley; sons, Terry (Maryette) Ost and Kenneth Ost, both of Jud; brothers, LeMar Kinzler and Duane Kinzler, both of Kulm; grandsons, Joshua Ost, Jeremiah Ost, David (Marybeth) Carlson, and Dustin (Amy) Carlson; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Darlene.


Funeral Service:
10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at United Methodist Church, Jud, with Pastor Rodney Ulmer officiating.

Visitation: 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley.

Interment: St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Jud.
