Lydia Hust, 92, Rugby, North Dakota, formerly of Medina, North Dakota died Thursday, March 16, 2006 at her daughter's residence in Rugby under hospice care.
Lydia was born June 26, 1913 at Cleveland, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Jacob and Charolette Weist. She attended farm school south of Cleveland.
Lydia married John Hust on September 26, 1931 in Jamestown. They had one daughter, Darlene.
Lydia attended the Baptist church at Medina. During her lifetime, Lydia enjoyed working on the farm, working for Dr. Martin, fishing with her husband, helping foster and special needs children, playing cards with friends and family, putting puzzles together with her grandchildren and drinking pop floats with her great-grandchildren while telling stories.
Lydia is survived by her daughter, Darlene of Rugby; four grandchildren, Mr. Terry and RoJean Wentz and Mr. George and DyVonne Zinck, five great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin and Sheila Wentz and Kayla and Lee Zinck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; four sisters, Mrs. George (Elizabeth) Remmick, Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Wolf, Mrs. Rosie Wiest and Mrs. Ray (Millie) Craig, six brothers, Jonathon Weist, Ed Weist, Reinhold Weist, Emil Weist, Roland Weist and Albert Weist and a son-in-law, Harold Borth.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at English Lutheran Church, Medina with Pastor Timothy Blackman and Rev. Randy Jaspers officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
