Lyle Dodge, 87, Jamestown, ND died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown. Lyle Dodge was born July 20, 1917 in Edmunds, North Dakota to Norman and Ella (May) Dodge. He grew up and attended school in the Edmunds area. He worked for Nick Freeman (a farmer in the area) for 2 years before joining the CCC's. He spent 2 years first serving at Arrowood refuge and then in Medora, North Dakota. Lyle was discharged and went to work in California where he was employed in the bar business for several years. He returned to North Dakota and went to work for Floyd Barthel. Lyle went back to California and worked at the Knotts Berry farm area. He drove horses on the carriages at the farm. Lyle finished his career in Jamestown as an employee at the Elks club. He is survived by one sister, Beverly Wannamaker, Jamestown and one brother, Neil (Darlyene) Dodge, Kearney, Neb. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at 1:00 PM at Hi-Acres Manor, Jamestown, ND with Chaplain David Fisher, officiating.
Visitation: Tuesday, March 15 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Edmunds Cemetery, Edmunds, North Dakota.
