Lynda Docken

Lynda M. Docken (Olson) was born November 3, 1947 to Lucille Olson (Gladue) & George Olson of McGregor, ND.  She passed away suddenly from medical complications on March 9th.  She is survived by son Chris Docken, Jamestown, ND, daughter Maria Kellam (Docken), spouse Patrick Kellam, Moorhead, MN, sister Carol Fisher & niece Cari Fisher, Inver Grove Heights, MN.  She had 3 grandchildren: Chris’s daughter Clara Kemp, 23 Fargo, ND; Maria’s sons Damon Docken, 23 & Padraig Kellam, 14, Moorhead, MN.  And a great nephew Cole Fisher 12, Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Family and friends were very important to Lynda & she loved to call to chat about her breakfast every morning & what movies were playing on Turner Classic Network.  She was an avid supporter of the greeting card industry by sending them out for all holidays, birthdays, or if someone was having a tough time.  She loved Dr Zhivago, Elvis, sweet treats & a good cup of tea.

The little things in life brought her joy like getting Werthers Originals or when they would stop for an occasional ice cream cone at DQ after a Dr. appointment.

Lyn (as she also liked to go by) was sweeter than sugar most of the time but her adventurous side remained intact as she aged.  She lived life to the best of her ability and would never pass up an opportunity for a margarita or adult beverage.  Once she escaped a pandemic quarantine lockdown from her assisted living.   She masterminded a getaway riding the local public transit bus, to enjoy a day of drinks with her son, Chris.  She maintained it was worth it.

She loved cats, hearing stories about them, and talking about her beloved Calico named, Sweetheart.  She will be missed & remembered for her caring/kind heart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to James River Humane Society.

Services will be held at a later date.
