Lynea Mae Persson, 82, of Edgeley, ND, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at her home.
Lynea Mae Lenz was born February 4, 1930, in Dickey County, ND, the daughter of Louis and Marjory (Tomlin) Lenz. She attended country school and graduated from Edgeley High School in 1949. She married Andrew S. Persson and they lived in Edgeley for 45 years. While living in Edgeley, Lynn worked at the Bookmobile and Public Library from 1965 until 1994. Andy died in 1994 and Lynn moved to Bismarck and lived there until 2006. She returned home to Edgeley in 2006 where she resided until her death.
Lynn was a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed horses, rodeos, coffee parties around her table with her friends and family, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was particularly fond of was playing cards and spending time with Aunt Faye Heim and Aunt Vera Zottnick.
Lynn is survived by her daughter, Lois Lynn (Dr. Richard) Marsh, Rochester, MN, grandson, Brent (Abby Patrick) Erickson and his two children, Madeline and Micah, Bismarck, ND; daughter-in-law, Claire Persson and grandson, John Persson and granddaughter, Anna Persson, Mandan, ND; sister, Rosanne (Oscar) Stehr, Minot, ND; half-brother, Robert J. Stehr, Edgeley, ND; sisters-in-law, Doris (Robert) Alin and Evelyn (Ted) Martin, both of Fargo, ND; brother-in-law, Fred (Mary Nell) Persson, Fargo; sisters-in-law, Barbara Persson and Ann Persson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dr. Mark Persson; brother, Lowell (Joann Larson) Lenz; sister, Margie Lou (Glenn) Frieh; two infant sisters, Lois Lenz and Connie Lou Stehr; step-father, Robert Stehr; four sisters-in-law, Alice (Russell) Belquist, Violet (Ed) Hickey, Ruth (Glen) Lacina, and Joan (Robert) Lagodinski; and two brothers-in-law, Jerry Persson and Carl Persson.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND
Family will receive guests: One hour before the service at the church.
Interment: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Edgeley.
