October 28, 1918 — June 25, 2013

Magdalena "Mickey" Kust, much beloved mother and a very special lady, 94, Jamestown, ND went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.

Magdalena "Mickey" Bieber was born October 28, 1918 in Jamestown, the daughter of Jacob and Pauline (Heyne) Bieber. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. Mickey attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated from Jamestown High School. On August 12, 1943 Mickey married Phillip Kust, Jr. in Jamestown. They moved to Minot for Phillip's job, working for the Great Northern Railroad and raised their family. After Phillip's death in 1962 Mickey worked for Rexall Drug Store and later for Medical Arts Pharmacy in Minot. In 1966 Mickey and her family moved back to Jamestown where she was caregiver for her parents and also worked at the ND State Hospital in the patients store until she retired.

Mickey was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was involved with the Ladies Aid, quilting and funeral committee. She enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, entertaining and monthly coffee get togethers with past workers. She was very active in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives (she was a milk and cookies grandma).

Mickey is survived by one daughter, Connie (Jim) Vagneur; three sons, Richard (Linda) Kust and William "Bill" Kust, all of Jamestown and David (Colleen) Kust, Roseville, CA; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Art Bieber and great-grandson, James Carlson.
