Maggie was born November 10th, 1932, to Peter Jr. and Emma (Zenker) Miller. Being the oldest of six, she grew up with many responsibilities of helping with the family farming and assisting with the younger siblings. She attended rural school until the work at home was more of a priority. Later in life she obtained her GED. She was an amazing speller and had beautiful handwriting. Many people over the years received multiple page letters written by her to keep them updated on the happenings within Maggie’s life.
She married LeRoy Presler on December 20th, 1953. They made their home on a farm west of Gackle. They worked on the farm side by side raising crops and cattle. And through all the hard work, they also managed to raise and care for three children, Dwayne, Marty, and Marella. Along with farm work, she also ensured all were fed several delicious meals per day. She was an amazing cook and baker; She could make blachinda like no other.
Her life revolved around family, faith, friends, and community. Her relationship with her siblings was strong and often involved regular gatherings as well as trips together to visit their sister in Nebraska.
