Mandy Steckler

Mandy Steckler, 31, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.

Mandy Hoffman was born June 28, 1977 in Ellendale, ND, the daughter of Tommy and Rhonda (Dockter) Hoffman. She was raised and attended school in Ashley, ND, graduating in 1997. Mandy worked as a caregiver until 2001. Mandy moved to Jamestown in 2001. She was employed at Wal-Mart for one year. On May 3, 2003 Mandy and David Steckler were married in Jamestown. Mandy became ill and entered Ave Maria Village in January 2004, where she resided until her passing.

Mandy enjoyed reading, embroidery and cooking.

Mandy is survived by her husband, David, Jamestown; mother, Rhonda (Leon) Piatz, Ashley, ND; father, Tommy Hoffman, Frederick, SD; one sister, Morgan (Chris) Meyer, Bismarck, ND; half-brothers, Ty Hoffman, Frederick SD, Shane Hoffman, Ashley, ND, Dalton Piatz and Wyatt Piatz, Ashley, ND; paternal grandfather, G.J. Hoffman, Ashley, ND; mother-in-law, Nancy Steckler, Jamestown; father-in-law, Dan Steckler, Jamestown; sister-in-law, Kyla Steckler, Jamestown; and two step-sisters, Melissa Bertsch, Ashley, ND and Amanda Metzger, Eureka, SD.

She was preceded in death by two brothers; maternal grandparents; and paternal grandmother.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Jamestown, with Pastor Richard Reynolds officiating.

Visitation: 12:00 to 6:00 PM, Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Burial: Congregational Cemetery, Kulm, North Dakota.
