Margaret Derheim

Margaret Derheim, 89, Jamestown, ND, died Friday, February 3, 2006 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.

Margaret Alice Hass was born December 14, 1916 at Milbank, SD, the daughter of John and Hattie (Schaffer) Hass. She moved with her family to a farm near Sanborn, ND in March of 1920 where she was raised and attended the township school. After her schooling she worked as a housekeeper for families in Sanborn, ND and Valley City, ND, including the late Quentin Burdick. She married Fred Derheim at Sacred Heart Catholic church, Sanborn, ND on April 20, 1936 and they moved to Jamestown, ND where Fred worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad and the Pulsher Hotel. Fred died on September 16, 1969. Margaret continued to live in Jamestown and in 1999 moved to live with her daughter, Donna. She entered Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home on October 4, 2005.

Margaret was a member of The Basilica Of St. James and St. James Tabernacle Society. She was an excellent baker and especially loved baking Chocolate Chip cookies, cakes, pies, bread, Cinnamon Rolls and Kuchen. She truly enjoyed feeding anyone who came to her home and could usually be heard saying, "are you hungry"?

Survivors include 2 daughters: Donna Lobsinger, Jamestown, ND; Dianne Derheim, Minneapolis, MN; a son, James Derheim, Jamestown, ND; 5 grandchildren, Shane Lobsinger, Maple Grove, MN, Bo Derheim, Minneapolis, MN, Melissa Clarys, Fargo, ND, Ona Barnett, Valley City, ND and Dianne Bell, Belmont, CA; 7 great-grandchildren, Shane Lobsinger, Megan Lobsinger, Brayden Bell, Tristen Bell, Asia Barnett, Tom Kellogg and Megan Gilbertson; 1 sister-in-law Beatrice (Joseph) Hass; 6 sisters-in-law on her husbands side, Betty (Calvin) Geier, Eva (Jack) Dodds, Rose (Scotty) Derheim, Kathy (Emil) Derheim, Marie (Walter) Derheim, and Gloria (Jack) Derheim, and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was the last surviving member of the Hass family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 7 sisters: Ethel, Vera, Cecelia, Dorothy, Esther, Vivian and Helen; 3 brothers: John Jr., Joseph and Francis; a grandson, Derek Derheim (March 21, 1973 - March 23, 1973); 2 sons-in-law: Gary Lobsinger and Pete Bige and 6 brothers-in-law.

Funeral - 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at The Basilica Of St James, Jamestown, ND with Father John McGinnis officiating.
Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND
Visitation - 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2006; 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday
Interment - Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
