Margaret E. Lindberg, 92, Jamestown, ND, died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
Margaret E. Salmon was born on February 13, 1919, in Jamestown, the daughter of Wilson and Rosabelle (Jones) Salmon. She attended Franklin Elementary, Jamestown High School, and Jamestown Business School. She was a bookkeeper for the US Navy at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. from 1942 to 1944. Margaret returned to Jamestown and continued bookkeeping from 1945 to 1949. She was united in marriage to Clifford L. Lindberg on December 8, 1946 in Jamestown. They made their home in Jamestown where she was an active Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher, 4-H leader, Lincoln School PTA member, and a census taker.
Margaret was a member of the First United Methodist Church, PEO, Order of the Eastern Star, and the American Contract Bridge League with whom she was a ranked player.
Clifford Lindberg died on January 30, 1979. Margaret continued to reside in Jamestown, spending winters in Florida.
Margaret is survived by son, Alan (Genny) Lindberg, Jamestown; daughter, Carol (Rick) Dunn, New Brighton, MN; son, Jon Lindberg, Jamestown; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Lindberg; parents, Wilson and Rosabell Salmon; brothers, Robert and John "Jack" Salmon; and one sister, Gladys Salmon Ebel.
Funeral Service: 10:30am, Saturday, March 19, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Jamestown.
Visitation: 9:00am to 7:00pm, Friday, March 18, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
